Why work with me?

I know that in the current economic climate, if you’re a small business owner, you’re unlikely to be able to afford to spend thousands on branding by a large design agency.

I’m a team of one, with minimal overheads, so I can provide a service which is professional, personal, and value for money.

My experience as a fine artist, as well as a designer, gives me a different perspective on the challenges of design.

This enables me to provide you with unique designs to really make your business stand out from the competition.

I guarantee there’ll be nothing generic and no templates!

I believe that design should be a collaborative process, with you and your small business at the centre of the process. You know your business better than anyone, and you know what makes your business unique.

My job is to translate the message of your unique brand into a coherent visual identity.

I’ll keep you informed, and collaborate with you at every step of the process.

I’ll work on your design until you’re completely happy with it.

I won’t be signing your work over to anyone else. In my team of one you’ll always be communicating with the same person – that’s me!

As a small business owner, you don’t need to be a graphic designer. But you do need to know the purpose of your logo, and what constitutes a good one. This basic knowledge will allow you to have productive and meaningful discussions with your designer regarding your objectives for your logo. It’ll also allow you to discern whether you’re getting quality design for your money.

About Me

I am a graphic designer and artist based in Cumbria in the UK. I trained in art and design at Blackpool School of Arts and later at Exeter College of Art and Design (now amalgamated with Plymouth University).

I’ve worked in several diverse areas of art and design. At present, besides my graphic design business, I am also working with a colleague in digitalising and colouring illustrations for a series of Norwegian maths books.

I’ve been a practicing fine artist since I left art school. You can see some of my work here.

I live in rural Cumbria with a family of assorted animals. At the last count there were two dogs, three native ponies, three geese, and fourteen hens.
